HOW TO TIE THE BOW TIE?
Remember the first day when your father taught you about tying your shoe laces. And look at yourself today; you can tie the shoe laces while watching your favorite cricket match as well. Similarly, the bow tie would require a little practice initially and then it will become as easy as tying your shoe laces. Follow the step by step guide to tie your bow tie perfectly:
1. PLACE IT AROUND THE COLLAR:
Like the normal necktie, place the bow tie around neck with its one end hanging lower than the other. There is no rule for which side should be longer. However, you can go with the one you are comfortable with.
2. CROSS THE LONGER END OVER THE SHORTER ONE:
While crossing the tie, make sure it is near your neck otherwise the bow tie would hang on your chest.
3. LOOP THE LONGER END UNDER WHERE THE TWO ENDS CROSS:
Use one of your hands to hold the cross point of both the ends. Then take the hanging part of the longer end and pass it from the behind the intersection and then up above it.
4. TIGHTEN THE ENDS:
Stretch the bow from both the ends to tighten it. Once tightened, swing the longer end to your back because it is no more required.
5. MAKE THE LOOP:
Take the shorter end and fold it over itself to make a loop. Now lift this whole portion and turn it to 90 degrees. It would be positioned horizontally now. Now grab the fold with the skinnier side of the loop.
6. FOLD AND PINCH THE BOW:
Now take the longer end from the back and drape it over the fold that you created in the last step. Pinch the bow from both the ends.
7. FINAL STEP:
Now fold the draping end over itself the way you did earlier. Pull the loop from the gap behind the bow portion. The back half of your back is ready now.
8. FINISHING THE LOOK:
Pull the loops of the bow tie and straighten it to give a polished look. Now lower down you collar.
Ooo La La! And the classy look is served hot on your collar. You must make sure that the bow tie does not loosen so you should check it periodically.
